Where is Basye/Bryce Mountain/Bryce Resort in Virginia
Our five-mile-long, three-mile-wide valley is tucked into the southwestern edge of Shenandoah County on the boarder of Virginia & West Virginia in the Allegheny Mountains. We’re 15 minutes west of Mount Jackson, 25 minutes southwest of Woodstock, 45 minutes southwest of Winchester, and 40 minutes north or Harrisonburg. At elevations ranging from 1,250-1,800 feet above sea level, temperatures here are normally five degrees cooler than the Washington DC area.
What is the role of Bryce Mountain Escapes?
Bryce Mountain Escapes serves as a value added co-host for property owners. Money received by Bryce Mountain Management & Maintenance LLC (doing business as Bryce Mountain Escapes) is on behalf of Hosts for their rental properties. As a value-added co-host, Bryce Mountain Escapes enforces the rental agreement between the host and the renter.
Bryce Mountain Escapes is committed to providing renters with a memorable rental experience. If during your stay, there is an emergency concerning the rental property, please immediately contact the Bryce Mountain Escapes office.
Does Bryce Mountain Escapes offer discounts or package deals with Bryce Resort?
Bryce Mountain Escapes is not affiliated with Bryce Resort. While we work closely with the Resort in many ways, it retains full control over pricing and booking of its many activities. Accordingly, all pricing, including any applicable discounts, can be determined by visiting the Resort’s website at www.bryceresort.com.
What’s included in your rental price quote?
Your price quote, given in U.S. dollars, includes:
- State sales (5.3%) & local occupancy (5%) taxes
- Base rental price in daily or weekly rates (property specific)
- Departure cleaning & linen fee (property specific)
- Admin & processing fee (5%) that covers bank transaction fees and website hosting costs.

What items are included in my rental?
Our property rentals include everything as described in the property’s listing, plus fresh bed linens, bath & kitchen towels, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee filters, dish soap, bar soap, dishwasher pods, several trash bags. Supplies are not restocked during your stay; extra supplies can be purchased at the Basye Community Store
All properties include WiFi internet.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Many (but not all) Bryce Mountain Escapes rental properties allow pets for an additional fee of $80-100 per pet, per stay. Guests are responsible for the cost of repairing or restoring damage caused by their pets. Bryce Resort offers a public-access dog park next to the Basye Library and Sky Bryce Airport.
Is full payment required at the time of booking?
Yes, payment is due in full, either by credit card or bank ACH, at the time of booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations are accepted for a full refund up to 30 days prior to the check-in date.
Refunds less a $150 cancellation fee are available for cancellations made within 30 days, but prior to seven days of the check-in date.
Refunds are NOT issued for reservations cancelled within seven days or check in or due to acts of nature such as: weather, road conditions, snow conditions, power outages, or forest fires. We recommend travel insurance for guests concerned about these infrequent but not uncommon events..
What is travel insurance?
Travel Insurance can be added to any reservation to protect guests if they need to cancel their reservation due to a family emergency, job loss, hurricane, flooding or a mandatory evacuation.
Bryce Mountain Escapes partners with RentalGuardian® and InsureStaysTM. Given the strict cancellation/refund policy desired by the Host, we strongly encourage Guests to purchase optional travel insurance.
✓ Travel Insurance covers risks incidental to planned travel such as sickness, accidental injury, or death of you or a family member (or of a traveling companion), weather delays, natural disasters, unexpected changes in your employment, and many more specified reasons.
✓ This standard travel insurance coverage costs 7% of your total reservation invoice amount. This travel insurance premium is generally non-refundable after 15 days of coverage purchase.
✓ For an additional charge, you include the optional Cancel-for-any-reason (CFAR) benefits. CFAR coverage cost is 10.8% of your total reservation invoice amount (7% Standard + 3.8% CFAR =10.8%). The CFAR benefit pays up to 100% of pre-paid non-refundable charges should the Guest cancel for any reason not covered by standard travel insurance.
As a covered traveler, should Guest have a medical issue or experience trip delay or interruption due to unforeseen developments, you may initiate your claim by calling (833) 610-0736. For more information, please consult your coverage documents.
Guests opting not to purchase travel insurance should be aware that a refund-in-full of your reservation payment may not be available under the terms set forth herein; therefore, your entire rental payment could be at risk.
