Shenandoah County is home to 178 miles of trails through the George Washington National Forest with spectacular views of the valley below, lush forests, the Shenandoah River, streams and wildlife. We’ve selected a few hikes near Bryce Resort but there’s not enough space to highlight everything the surrounding area has to offer. Lake Laura Trail Loop
Lake Laura Trail Loop is a 2.5-mile loop that is good for all skill levels. The trail is open daily all year long and takes anywhere from one-and-a-half to two hours – an easy to moderate hike for all ages. The Lake Laura Trail is beautiful any time of year and a fun activity with children as young as four years. Note: Lake Laura Trail is not handicap accessible. Start from the Lake Laura Beach Area, the parking lot at the base of the dam, or the boat launch parking lot on the southern end of the lake.

Spring Mountain Ridge Trail
Spring Mountain Ridge Trail is a 2.1-mile loop with moderate difficulty.

North Mountain Trail
North Mountain Trail is a 4.6 mile out and back trail that begins at Shrine Mont. The trail is rated as difficult.

South Link, Bradford Trail, and North Link
South Link, Bradford Trail, and North Link is a 2.3-mile loop good for all skill levels.

Big Schloss via Wolf Gap Trail
Big Schloss via Wolf Gap Trail is a 4.3 mile out and back trail located near Lost City, West Virginia is rated as moderate.
